Ramadan Campaign 2023

Rukhsana Foundation, in collaboration with APPNA (Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America) and AIMCAANA (Allama Iqbal Medical College Alumni Association of North America), launched its Ramadan Campaign to extend support to those facing hardships during the Holy month. This nationwide effort seeks to shed light on the challenges of poverty and foster a spirit of unity and generosity among the Pakistani community.

Under the leadership of Sajjad Manzoor, the Chief Operating Officer, Rukhsana Foundation successfully distributed 1,500 ration bags during Ramadan 2023. The Campaign received a total donation of $32,000, with AIMCAANA & APPNA OK contributing $17,000 and Naeem and Rahat Tahirkheli (Rukhsana Tahirkheli Foundation USA) donating $15,000.

Nadia Rehan Rizvi, the Administrative Coordinator, played a crucial role in organizing the ration distribution efforts. Beneficiaries were identified through carefully curated lists, focusing on students attending Rukhsana Foundation’s schools and the families of medical and support staff from Allama Iqbal Medical College and King Edward Medical University. Through home visits and a well-structured system, the Foundation ensured the safe and efficient distribution of rations to those fasting and in need.

Each ration package, costing Rs. 5,500, aimed to provide essential food supplies to those struggling. The packages included 15 kg of atta (flour), 3 kg of sugar, 2 kg of Shan ghee (clarified butter), 1 kg of daal masoor (red lentils), 1 kg of white channay (chickpeas), 1.5 kg of daal channay (split Bengal gram), and 100g of Tapal tea.

The success of the Campaign was further amplified by the generous contributions of donors, amounting to a total of 82 lac. The recipients of the ration distribution expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the efforts undertaken by Rukhsana Foundation.

In the spirit of Ramadan, Rukhsana Foundation’s initiative exemplifies the values of compassion, solidarity, and goodwill. By providing essential rations to those in need, the Foundation continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families during this sacred month.
