As always, Rukhsana Foundation, in partnership with APPNA and AIMCAANA, launched its annual Ramadan Campaign to support those in need during the holy month of Ramadan. This nationwide initiative aims to highlight the challenges of poverty and promote unity and generosity within the Pakistani community.
Led by Sajjad Manzoor, the Chief Operating Officer, the Foundation distributed 1,500 plus ration bags in Ramadan 2024. The campaign raised $30,000, with contributions from AIMCAANA & APPNA OK ($18,000), Naeem and Rahat Tahirkheli ($10,000), and KEMCAANA ($2,000).
Nadia Rehan Rizvi, the Administrative Coordinator, was instrumental in organizing the distribution. Rations were allocated based on lists focusing on students from Rukhsana Foundation’s schools and the families of staff from Allama Iqbal Medical College and King Edward Medical University. The Foundation ensured a smooth and effective distribution through home visits.
Each ration package, valued at Rs. 5,600, contained essentials like 15 kg of flour, 2 kg of Shan ghee(clarified butter), 3 kg of sugar, 2 kg of daal channay (split Bengal gram), 1 kg of white channay (chickpeas) and other vital items. Rukhsana Foundation’s efforts embody the values of compassion and solidarity, making a significant impact on the lives of those in need during Ramadan.
