Mrs. Rukhsana Mushtaq Tahirkheli (Late)

Born on May 9th, 1942, Mrs. Rukhsana Mushtaq Tahirkheli, our esteemed founder, began her journey in a world of service. Her father, then serving as a British Army officer, instilled values of compassion early on. Enrolling at Presentation Covent High School Rawalpindi at the tender age of five, she started aiding her community, generously sharing her pocket money with those in need.

Upon completing her studies in 1963, she married Mushtaq Tahirkheli, an army officer. She had two children namely Naeem Tahirkheli who is a cardiologist in the U.S.A. and a daughter, Eram Sheikh who is happily married to a renowned businessman in Karachi. Despite the family’s frequent relocations due to her husband’s military service, her innate desire to assist the less fortunate remained steadfast. She often taught underprivileged children and offered help wherever they went.

Naeem Tahirkheli pursued a medical career in the United States during the 1990s, following in his mother’s compassionate footsteps. Moved by her spirit of generosity, he founded the Rukhsana Foundation in 2005, driven to uplift Pakistan’s underprivileged. Under the personal guidance of Mrs. Rukhsana Mushtaq, the organization established an elementary school and clinic in 2008.

In September 2018, Mrs. Rukhsana Mushtaq left this world, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration. Her ever-present smile brought solace to all, and she tirelessly served the community through the Rukhsana Foundation till her final days. The Foundation remains dedicated to carrying forward her mission.

Firm in her belief in the divine plan, she trusted that, with God’s grace, the organization would continue its work, bringing happiness to the underserved and improving lives.
